Local Guiding Services

Are you looking to do some birding in Vermont? Perhaps you’d like to see the localized Bicknell’s Thrush or the boreal specialties of the Northeast Kingdom.

Custom day trips in Vermont (or neighboring states) are also available upon request. Sam or Chip can take you out for just a morning or for a full day (or more) of birding locally and beyond.

We focus on the birds and/or habitats you most want to see, including: Golden-winged or Cerulean Warbler, Black Tern, Bicknell’s Thrush, Black-backed Woodpecker, wintering duck rafts on Lake Champlain, and other special New England species.

These local trips are perfect for:

  • Bucket list trips for target species such as Bicknell's Thrush and Boreal Chickadee

  • Morning or day-long trips for all experience levels and interests

  • Migration hotspots, including Delta Park, the Champlain Islands, Dead Creek WMA

  • Day to long weekend trips around the northeast (New England, New York, and Quebec) for general birding or rarity chases

  • Birding by ear walks, eBird demos and other skill or tool-based field outings

For local trips (within 1 hour of Burlington) for up to 3 people:

  • $250 for a half day (4 -5 hours long),

  • $425 for a full day (8-9 hours long),

  • For larger groups and/or longer drives, we’d be happy to provide a proposal. Please fill out the planning form below.
